The Rare Music Curator presents Podcast #18
I Want To Be The Drone

This month I have selected artists that use drone as a vehicle for their musical works. Not all of the artists represented here are strictly drone artists but the pieces here have an hypnotic buzz to them that seems to cross musical boundaries. I also “blended” many of the pieces together so that when one tune was coming to an end I would fade the other song in and play them both for a few minutes. The quality is generally pretty good here although there are some rough spots and hiss in places. Most of these are excerpts of longer works.

As far as I know all of these pieces are unreleased although I am not entirely certain about the Oliveros or Terry Riley works. The Curator does not condone the sale of this material at any time and suggests that you support your favorite artists by buying their commercially available products.
